About Us

Overview

The Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology (FAST) is the newest faculty at UTHM, established in 2017. FAST offers SEVEN academic programmes under three departments: Physics & Chemistry, Mathematics & Statistics, and Technology & Natural Resources.

F.A.S.T

The acronym FAST also holds a special meaning embodying the tauhidic paradigm emphasized in UTHM Mission: F-Fatonah (intelligence), A-Amanah (trustworthiness), S-Siddiq (truthfulness) and T-Tabligh (disseminating the message).

Collaboration with Agencies & Industries

To primarily meet the requirements of our industry and prepare our graduates for the workplace, FAST has fostered numerous collaborations with various agencies and industries such as the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM), Johor National Parks Corporation (PTNJ), Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), Standards Malaysia, McDonald’s Malaysia, Malaysia Nuclear Agency, Department of Statistics Malaysia, Significant Technology Sdn. Bhd., MIMOS Semiconductor Sdn. Bhd., Maybank Investment Bank Bhd., Pharmaniaga Sdn. Bhd., SAJ Ranhill Sdn. Bhd., Gading Kencana Sdn. Bhd. and many others.

From the collaborations, our students benefit immensely from the six months internship program with the industry. FAST has also opened our doors and extended our hands to industries in terms of training, research, and facilities.

International Collaborations

Apart from that, we are also collaborating with many institutions of higher education in Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, China and the USA in areas of research and academia.

Our Graduates

FAST is continually preparing our graduates to contribute their skills and knowledge in the areas of the food industry, biotechnology, data management, and analysis, semiconductor, environment, biodiversity, and conservation either at government organizations or private sector.
