Educate and produce professionals in the field of applied sciences and technology that are efficient and sound through holistic and balanced academic and research programs.


The main objective of Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology is to establish and strenghten the Faculty’s capability to execute programmes in science and technology at UTHM. To fulfil the MOHE aspiration, the Faculty attempts to produce human resources who are able to explore knowledge and conduct multidisciplinary research. Through knowledge exploration and research, the Faculty would be able to apply new information in the government sector, industry, and community efficiently and effectively. For this purpose, therefore, the Faculty objectives are as follows:

  1. Implement academic programs at the levels of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral in sciences recognized by relevant accreditation bodies.
  2. Produce at least 10% of undergraduate graduates with a CPA achievement of ≥ 3.50.
  3. Ensure that the marketability of graduates reaches at least 70% after 6 months of graduation.
  4. Ensure that 75% of academic staff hold a Doctoral Philosophy degree.
  5. Produce at least 2 publications per academic staff in the form of conference papers / journal articles / proceedings / modules / original workbooks / translation books / other related scholarly articles in one year.
  6. Ensure that at least 60% of academic staff are involved in research or consultation during the current year.
  7. Ensure that at least 90% of staff meets the 7-day training and development program a year.
